How to play Blocks
Seven different pieces โ the famous tetrominoes โ fall one at a time into a 10ร20 well. Move and rotate each piece so it lands without gaps: when a horizontal row is completely filled, it flashes, explodes and disappears, and everything above slides down. The game speeds up every ten lines, and it ends when the stack reaches the top.
Clearing more lines at once is worth far more: one line scores 100 ร level, two 300, three 500, and a full quad (four lines with the tall I-piece) a whopping 800 ร level โ with confetti to match. The faint outline at the bottom of the well is the ghost piece, showing exactly where your piece will land.
Tips from the stacking trenches
- Keep the stack flat and low. Height is risk โ burying a hole costs several pieces to undo.
- Leave one column (usually an edge) empty and save your I-pieces for it: that's the recipe for quads.
- Use the ghost piece instead of guessing, and hard-drop (space or right-click) once you're sure โ the saved seconds add up at higher levels.
- Rotation near a wall automatically "kicks" the piece inward, so you can rotate even in tight spots.
